You spoke, and we listened with regards to the course at Thompson. The oval has been removed this year, and both the start and finish lines have been moved near the expo and club row and the big hill.
“By removing the tedious infield we’ve compacted the course, eliminating some pavement while adding more uneven grass and dirt sections,” course designer and Programs Director Patrick Goguen said.
The smaller footprint should also make it easier to walk from one end of the course to the other.
“Moving the start to the expo/club row area and the finish to up on top of the hill should make for an exciting central location for spectators.”
“More dirt and less pavement,” Event Director Richard Fries said about the changes to the race course.
